Karibu

The publishing house

KARIBU is a children's and young adult book publisher belonging to the Edel Verlagsgruppe GmbH publishing group.
Founded in 2016, the publishing house publishes a wide range of picture books, children's books and non-fiction books for readers aged 3 to 16.
The book programme is managed and developed at the publishing group's Munich office in Schwabing under the direction of Christine Lederer.

The authors and illustrators

Our focus is on working with authors living in Germany. It is their imagination, their storytelling talent, their stories and their images that captivate readers. Our illustrators enrich the stories with their visual worlds and bring the characters to life.
We are delighted that Juma Kliebenstein, Falk Holzapfel, Marliese Arold, Jennifer Alice Jager, Florian Kinast, Tanja Mairhofer, Thomas Müller, Michael Peinkofer, Pascal Nöldner, Nathalie Pohl, Andreas Schlüter, Anja Grote, Moritz Seibert, Carola Sieverding and Collien Fernandes, among others, are our creative minds.

Our books

With books from other countries and cultures, we venture a glimpse into the world. It is important to us to give children the opportunity to experience life situations from different perspectives through reading, to bring foreign countries and continents into their homes and to learn, book by book, how big, colourful and wide the world is. We want to show teenagers and young adults fantastical worlds and romantic settings with our youth and YA titles.
Exciting entertainment, stories that make you think, images that we remember for a long time – simply making good books – that is our aim and the foundation for a lifelong love of reading. We hope you find a favourite book with us that will accompany you and your children.
