With NEXT LEVEL, we are taking reading promotion to a whole new level and launching primary school children directly to the next reading level with interactive comic adventures. NEXT LEVEL focuses on children and their interests, transporting them into magical worlds and captivating adventures.

A central component of every NEXT LEVEL book is the integrated reading audio, a soundtrack that can be accessed via a QR code in the book. In the audio track, the text is read aloud in a moderate tempo while the child reads along in the book. Reading educators highly value this method of audio-supported reading and recommend it for both school and leisure reading. Particularly children who speak a language other than German at home benefit greatly from this method.

Requests and ideas for NEXT LEVEL are developed and tested in regular meetings in primary schools together with children and their teachers. The stories themselves are fast-paced and vividly told in comic book style. Reading text and images hand in hand creates motivation and a sense of achievement – a boost that many children desperately need on their way to reading more dense books.

NEXT LEVEL books are supplemented by a variety of interactive pages with exciting puzzles, tricky search tasks or creative DIY ideas that are seamlessly integrated into the plot. This breaks up the reading with playful elements, drives the plot forward interactively – and makes the children reading the book a part of the story.

Programme:

The programme is divided into two levels: START LEVEL offers an easy introduction in four-colour design with a larger font on around 96 pages. For advanced readers, PRO LEVEL offers a smaller font on up to 144 pages. An integrated progress bar on each page visualises reading progress and motivates young readers to keep going. Developed in close collaboration with children and their teachers, these comic book reading adventures set new standards for modern and target group-oriented literacy development in primary schools.
