The publishing company and its history

Südpol is an independent children's and young adult publishing house based in Grevenbroich. Since 2011, we have been publishing a carefully curated selection of exciting, captivating, and humorous favorite books for readers aged 3 to 14.
We are a member of the avj (Association of Children's and Young Adult Publishers), the German Publishers and Booksellers Association, and the Federal Association for Reading Promotion. In 2024, we were honored with the German Publishing Award.

Program

With now more than 120 titles, ranging from board books to young adult novels, we aim to inspire a love for reading and provide space for the diverse and colorful facets of our society. For us, diversity is not just a topic – it’s a given. Equally important is ensuring that reading remains a source of enjoyment.
We publish picture books as well as both realistic and fantastical children's literature. Our young adult program includes everything from coming-of-age novels to science fiction and fantasy. In doing so, we focus primarily on works by German-speaking authors.
